Manufacturing Storage Tanks Since 1962.

Storage tank manufacturer Bendel Tank & Heat Exchanger in Charlotte NC and Houston TX.Bendel Tank & Heat Exchanger has manufactured stainless steel storage tanks since 1962.  2012 marks our 50 year anniversary of business under the same private ownership!  Over the past 50 years, we have designed and manufactured thousands of tanks for all types of applications in most industries, including petrochemical, chemical, petroleum, pharmaceutical, textile, pulp and paper, and more.

People ask us what we do really well with designing and building storage tanks.  And the best answer we can give them is that we have such a long lifetime of experience.  There is nothing that can replace experience and nothing that can compare to experience within a certain industry or field.  Bendel is fortunate that we have retained so much volumes and years of experience within our company lifetime.

Bendel excels in designing and manufacturing custom above-ground storage tanks.  We can provide the highest quality single-wall and double-wall storage tanks up to 186” diameter and 75,000 gallon capacity.

Vertical Storage Tank Manufacturers

Our vertical storage tanks are designed, built and tested to meet industry standards per UL-142, NFPA-Storage tank manufacturers Bendel Tank & Heat Exchanger.22, API-650, API-620, API-12F or ASME.  Tank bottoms may be self supporting which include flat and false sloped designs or elevated by legs or skirts with dished or conical bottom designs. Roof options may be open, flat, dished or conical. We can provide UL-142 labeled single-wall or double-wall tanks to a maximum height of 35’ and 40,000 gallon capacity or a larger capacity using one of the other standards listed above.

Both Single-wall and double-wall vertical storage tanks are available in Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel or Nickel Alloy materials on our vertical storage tanks at Bendel.

Horizontal Storage Tank Manufacturers

Bendel Tank & Heat Exchanger can provide high quality custom fabricated above-ground single-wall or double-wall horizontal storage tanks up to 144” diameter and 50,000 gallon capacity.

Our horizontal storage tanks are designed, manufactured, tested and labeled per UL-142. We can also provide stamped and non-stamped ASME single-wall storage tanks up to 186” diameter and 75,000 gallon capacity.

Custom storage tank manufacturing can be provided with support saddles and/or multiple compartments dependent upon customer requirements. Single-wall and double-wall horizontal storage tanks are available in Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel or Nickel Alloy materials.

Heat Exchanger Manufacturers & Heat Exchanger Engineer Spotlight

Heat exchanger manufacturers Bendel Tank & Heat Exchanger in Charlotte, NC and Houston, TX.Shell & Tube Heat Exchangers are used in applications where the demands from high temperatures and pressures are significant.  Bendel manufactures heat exchangers for industries like power plants, chemical plants, petrochemical plants, petroleum refineries, natural gas processing, and sewage treatment.

The basic heat exchanger manufactured at Bendel is a piece of equipment built for efficient heat transfer from one medium to another. The media may be separated by a solid wall, so that they never mix, or they may be in direct contact.  At Bendel, we customize every heat exchanger project to the specific and demanding tasks that our heat exchanger clients need.

Our in-house engineering team stresses definition of design, testing, fabricating, and quality control at each stage of development.  We are advanced users of exceptional engineering and design software systems like HTRI, AutoCAD and Compress.

There are two primary classifications of heat exchangers according to their flow arrangement. InHeat Exchanger engineering and manufacturers with Bendel Tank & Heat Exchanger.parallel-flow heat exchangers, the two fluids enter the exchanger at the same end, and travel in parallel to one another to the other side. In counter-flow heat exchangers the fluids enter the exchanger from opposite ends. The counter current design is most efficient, in that it can transfer the most heat from the heat (transfer) medium.

Shell and tube heat exchangers consist of a series of tubes. One set of these tubes contains the fluid that must be either heated or cooled. The second fluid runs over the tubes that are being heated or cooled so that it can either provide the heat or absorb the heat required. A set of tubes is called the tube bundle and can be made up of several types of tubes: plain, longitudinally finned, etc. Shell and tube heat exchangers are typically used for high-pressure applications (with pressures greater than 30 bar and temperatures greater than 260°C). This is because the shell and tube heat exchangers are robust due to their shape.

Our Quickmill Intimidator is the superior solution for large part machining and drilling accuracy. The Quickmill gives us increased production efficiency while improving the quality and performance of our Shell & Tubesheet Heat Exchangers.

Our Intimidator Gantry 96 (96″ x 185.5″) provides our craftsmen with a powerful, precise tool that performs flawlessly time after time.  Bendel even accepts drilling outsource project work where you can ship the materials to us or we can purchase and ship finished products back to you.

Pressure Vessel Manufacturers Spotlight on Bendel Tank & Heat Exchanger in Charlotte

Pressure vessel manufacturer Bendel Tank & Heat Exchanger in Charlotte, NC and Houston, TX.Pressure vessel manufacturer Bendel Tank & Heat Exchanger has a long history of designing and manufacturing custom pressure vessels.  With Bendel’s years of experience, we have built a vast array of Pressure Vessels & Reactors with wall thickness exceeding 1″, diameters up to 15 feet, and weighing up to 70 tons. Due to the many different industries we serve, our experience in design and fabrication of Pressure Vessels & Reactors is immense.

Pressure Vessel Manufacturing Overview

Pressure vessels are used to store and transmit liquids, vapors and gases under pressure in general. The pressure of these finds will expert pressure equally in all direction on the walls and ends of the pressure vessels. Because of the internal loading, stresses are induced on certain sections of the cylinder walls.

Pressure vessels are generally used in engineering practice to store fluid, i.e. liquid vapors and gas under pressure.  And there are basically two main types of pressure vessels:  either according to the open/close of the end or to the dimensions.

According to end construction, the pressure vessels may be of open end or closed end. A simplePressure vessel designer and manufacturer Bendel Tank & Heat Exchanger.cylinder with a piston is an example of open-end or whereas a tank is an example of closed end vessel. Due to the fluid pressure circumferential or hoop stresses are induced in case of open-ended vessels where as longitudinal stresses in addition to circumferential stresses are induced in case of closed ended vessels.

According to dimensions pressure vessels may be of thin shell or thick shell. The deciding factor among thin and thick shells is its wall thickness an shell diameter. If the ration is less than 1/10 it is said to be a thick shell. Thin shells are used in boilers tanks and pipes whereas thick shells are used in high pressure cylinders, tanks , gun barrels etc.

Bendel Pressure Vessel Uses in Industry

Bendel pressure vessels are used in many industries to store fluids under pressure.  Major uses of industry pressure vessels include:

  • Steam boiler
  • Storage of chemicals
  • Storage of petroleum products
  • Engine cylinders
