Pressure Vessel Manufacturers Design Heating & Cooling Media for Temperature Control

Bendel Tank & Heat Exchanger has provided pressure vessel manufacturing services for almost 50 years.  And our heating and cooling media design and manufacturing is right behind it!

For decades, industries and manufacturers have relied on Bendel to design and manufacture quality heating and cooling media as an integral part of our client’s storage and manufacturing process.  Bendel provides clients with four types of heating and cooling media to maintain temperature-specific vessels.

Heating and cooling media design and manufacturing with Bendel Tank & Heat Exchanger.

Conventional Vessel Jackets

Conventional vessel jackets provide a large surface area of either heating or cooling and can operate under higher pressure levels.

Dimpled Jackets

Dimpled jackets also provide a larger surface area for heating and cooling but are not recommended for applications requiring more than 200 psi in pressure.

Half Pipe Jackets

Half pipe jackets do not have the pressure limitations of dimpled jackets.  All of our Bendel jackets prevent exposure to material contamination.

Internal Coils

Internal coils handle heating and cooling jobs really well while functioning under high or low pressures.  Internal coils do not provide the higher degree of exposure to material contamination.

Bendel Tank & Heat Exchanger only delivers the best quality developed for the best overall performance.  If your company needs engineering design and manufacturing for Storage Tanks, Pressure Vessels or Heat Exchangers, please contact Bendel Tank & Heat Exchanger in Charlotte, NC at 866-596-5112 or Fred Weissbach in our Gulf Coast office in Houston, TX at 832-436-4626 or email weissbach@bendelcorp.com.

Storage Tank Manufacturer with Custom Fabricated Jackets

Bendel Tank & Heat Exchanger has manufactured storage tanks and storage tank jackets since 1962.  That is 49 years of storage tank manufacturing experience.

Tank jackets are used to heat and cool the contents of a storage tank or pressure vessel.  That’s the simple definition of a tank jacket.  A jacket is a cavity external to the vessel that permits the uniform exchange of heat between the fluid circulating in it and the walls of the vessel.  Jacketed vessels can be employed as chemical reactors (to remove the elevated heat of reaction) or to reduce the viscosity of high viscous fluids (such as tar).  Agitation can be also used in jacketed vessels to improve the homogeneity of the fluid properties (such as temperature or concentration).

Heat Transfer Dimple & Half-pipe Designer and Fabricator Bendel Tank & Heat Exchanger

Dimple jacket and conventional jacket fabricators from Bendel Tank & Heat Exchanger.Maintaining temperatures in the manufacturing and storage process is where Bendel custom heating & cooling fabrications really help make a difference!

For our Bendel chemical engineering customers, a jacketed vessel is a container that is designed for controlling the temperature of its contents, by using a cooling or heating “jacket” around the vessel through which a cooling or heating fluid is circulated.

A jacket is a cavity external to the vessel that permits the uniform exchange of heat between the fluid circulating in it and the walls of the vessel. There are several types of jackets, depending on the design.

Conventional Jackets provide a large heating or cooling transfer area however, depending upon the pressure, can be substantially more expensive than other alternatives.

Half-pipe Coil Jackets

Half Pipe Jackets are more expensive than dimpled jackets but do not have the pressure or cycling limitations of dimpled jackets. All three external jacket options do not pose a potential for material contamination.

Dimple Jackets

Dimpled Jackets also provide for a large heating or cooling transfer area but are not recommended for pressures exceeding 200 psi or when the cycling of steam and cooling water is to be utilized in the process. The cost of dimpled jackets is relatively inexpensive.

Internal Coils provide for good heating and cooling surface contact while handling high
internal and external pressures. If the stored material is not corrosive to the coil then this may be the most economical option.  However, internal coils do not offer the degree of safety from contamination by the heating or cooling medium that external jackets can provide.

Jacketed vessels can be employed as chemical reactors (to remove the elevated heat of reaction) or to reduce the viscosity of high viscous fluids (such as tar).
